Certificate
Sanfor
Sanforization is a certification that the fabric has undergone a special mechanical treatment process to prevent shrinkage during washing. For a bedding manufacturer, having this certificate means a guarantee of stability in product dimensions and long-lasting comfort. It’s not just a technical designation it’s a promise that the textiles will retain their properties for years, no matter how many times they are washed. For customers, this means peace of mind, reassurance and comfort on a daily basis, with no unpleasant surprises in the form of shrunken bedding.
The sanforization process was patented in the 1930s. It was developed in the 1970s and involves controlled, pre-shrinking of the fabric while it is still in the factory. The material is moistened with steam and passed through special rollers that mechanically compress the fabric. As a result, it “shrinks” under controlled conditions, eliminating the risk of shrinkage during home laundering.
Sanforized products are marked with the Sanfor™ logo on the label or packaging. The certificate is especially important for cotton, satin and flannel bedding, where it eliminates the natural disadvantage of these materials, preserving all their advantages – airiness, softness and naturalness.
